ABOUT FRONTIER COMMUNITY ACCESS TELEVISION
Frontier Community Access Television, aka FCAT, is the PEG Access TV station and media center that serves the four Massachusetts of Conway, Deerfield, Sunderland and Whately, also known as South County. Since its establishment in 2008, the station has served as sharing the stories of “South County”, documenting government meetings, Frontier Regional School functions, and recording numerous community events. In addition, the station has also turned out several local documentary videos and a number of award winning shows. During the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic the station took on a different role and served as a utility for the community. During this difficult time, the station live-streamed school sporting events and functions, and also over saw the live broadcasting of numerous board of health meetings, selectboard meetings and school committee meetings to keep the general informed. In addition the FCAT channels were put to use to broadcast Governor Bakers daily addresses, and the bulletin board was put to use to communicate important information such as Covid-19 regulations, vaccine locations, etc. Since the end of the pandemic, the station has continued to cover community events, government meetings and school functions, but has also ventured into the realm of podcast production. The station is also expanding its production facilities for community members to produce shows, documentaries and other Audio/Visual works.
BENEFITS
- Paid Time Off
- Access to FCAT Media production equipment.
- Equipment and affordable camera rental for non-FCAT related shoots.
